Gopeshwar (A Township in Uttarakhand)

Gopeshwar is one of the spiritual and aesthetic places of Uttarakhand in India, which placed at 30.42N 79.33E, 1550 m (5090 ft ) approx above sea level, and spread over 30km sq(10 sq meter), encircled by four main temples, Rudranath, Tungnath, Anusuya Devi mandir, and Badrinath.

Kedarnath is also nearby Temple. It is the managerial headquarters of the Chamoli district, one of the significant Garhwal regions.
Gopeshwar is very famous for the Temples GOPINATH and Vaitarni Kund, well known for lord Krishna and lord shiva due to which tourists found it very interesting to visit to know its History.

Mythology about Gopinath temple

Gopinath temple (Rudranath temple) is the ancient Hindus temple built in the mid-9th-11th century dedicated to the lord shiva. According to the natives, once lord Krishna enjoy playing the flute, lord shiva heard that tune and got engrossed afterward lord Krishna welcomed him by calling Maharaj Gopeshwar, from thereon it is known as Gopeshwar town.

The architect of Gopinath somewhere follows The Tunganath and Kedarnath. It believes that there is a Trishul of Mahadev which once threw on KAMDEV (lord of love) and got stuck in a place which now is impossible to move but the only person who can do it who is a devotee of god, knowledgeable, pure-hearted, sacred and loyal.
